Memories of Dave Rogers Dave was a funny, kind and generous guy; he always had time to listen, to lend a helping hand or just chat. We knew Dave as a friend and neighbour for many years in West Swindon. He loved his family and in particular his boys Seb & Patrick. He watched over them as they raced round Hodds Hill on their bikes pretending it was Daytona and being chased all the while by our boys (who Dave fondly referred to as the Kray Twins!). Dave was always a huge presence both physically and metaphorically; I remember him leaving the house dressed as the Jolly Green Giant coated in green body paint with a shredded shirt almost covering his chest ; you always knew when it was time to leave for school as you would see Dave , lunch boxes in hand, shooing the boys out of the house and into the car . We remember Dave as a rock, someone you could depend on , who always had time to listen, and have a laugh with. Andrew particularly remembers fun trips to see Bath play at The Rec , a few beers in ‘The Huntsman’ and a bucket of KFC for the train ride home. Happy Days! Dave was proud of his boys, his home ,his Welshness and all that he had achieved ; we missed that guy and were sad to not to have been in touch with him in recent years. To Tracey, Sebastian and Patrick we send our love and be assured that we will always remember those happy times spent with you all. Rosie & Andrew Law
